Christmas

The Christmas spirit is in full swing in the Colby home! We've started making our Christmas gifts for everyone (and by "we" I mean "I've"). In my opinion, making a gift is so much more heartfelt than going out and buying a bunch of them. We have bought a few of them and will probably end up buying a few more...but nothing lavish. So far on store bought gifts, I've spent $9. Yep. $9. I'm doing pretty well if you ask me ;). I've got a lot more to make...but I'm up to the challenge. I've got a little over a month!

Today, something amazing happened. I had just woken up and was laying in bed. Layla was a LOT more active than normal so I pushed the bottom half of my shirt up to feel her move around. I looked down and could actually SEE my belly moving all around from her. WHOA! It was amazing! I've been able to feel her kick for quite a while now but this was just...oh it was so amazing. There are no other words to describe it. It's a little weird to think that there's a HUMAN in my belly- but she's in there and growing like a weed. I'm reminded of it every single day :). I just love her.

This Christmas is going to be the last Christmas of just Matt and I. Although we both love our little girl and can't WAIT to open gifts with her next year and start all the Christmas morning traditions with her...we are both feeling a little nostalgic about this Christmas. We've had so long to get used to a Christmas morning routine. We wake up early, open gifts from each other, have a small breakfast and wrap up on the couch in a blanket and enjoy the tree and the morning. Next year, I doubt it will be so peaceful :).

I'm off today. Heading out to buy some more stuff to make tons of gifts and then come home and make them! I can't wait :).
